![]() Meet Little Jake
![]() Little Jake has happily found his forever home. Here is his story from when he first came to us: Little Jake came to us when he was 9 years old and had a history of abuse by his first family who was a breeder's nightmare. After being in 2 car accidents, nearly drowning by falling through ice on a pond, and finally biting a child who was jabbing objects in his ears, the breeder discovered what was going on and immediately took him back. He was placed in another home where he recovered from most of the trauma he incurred with his first family. All was fine for a few years until the young child jumped on him while he was sleeping and he bit her. The breeder took him back once again but was unable to keep him due to health issues in the family. Rescue was not able to take him because they would not be able to place him due to his age and the liability of his history of biting. Vizslas like Little Jake are one of the reasons the Vizsla Rescue Haven was created. Little Jake arrived at the San Francisco airport looking overwhelmed and having to pee really badly. Bless his heart, he held it until I could get to a patch of grass where he proceeded to pee for several minutes. He was much more relaxed after his pit stop and a double cheeseburger from McDonalds. Introducing him to the rest of the pack proved to be fairly easy. They all immediately seemed to think he was OK and he seemed to think this new place might not be so bad. He has been sleeping throughout the night and eats well and willingly shows affection and asks for attention. He was shaking some while I was driving him and some of the other v's to an off leash park. However once we got into the country and he smelled the country air, he seemed to lose his nervousness and became excited about the ride. He stayed pretty close on the walk and enjoyed it thoroughly, coming home to nap and then eat dinner. He is definitely a sweetie. |
